Wazazi Nipendeni – PMTCT TV Spot
Wazazi Nipendeni (Love me, parents) is a national, multi-channel social and behavior change communication campaign in Tanzania that aims to empower pregnant women and their partners to take the steps necessary for a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery. In this TV spot, set at parents’ day in a school, viewers learn from two women gossiping in the audience that the parents of the girl on stage are both living with HIV, but that the girl is uninfected. One woman informs the other that it is possible to have an HIV-negative child even if the mother is HIV-positive by going for HIV testing and counseling and enrolling in prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) services if one or both parents are HIV positive.
